Dr. Bowen’s extensive research into how human relationships function integrates research findings from biology and neuroscience. Dr. Bowen focused on what he saw as the common patterns of all 'human emotional systems' and studied how anxiety impacts the system and how increases in emotional maturity in any member can improve the functioning of the entire system.
Our focus at [Th]inc. Leadership is helping leaders discover anxiety patterns and the part they play within their work, social and family systems. If the leaders do not have the capacity to think through their responses to relationship dilemmas, but rather react anxiously to perceived emotional demands, a state of chronic anxiety and reactivity may be set in place.
The goal of our approach is to advance emotional maturity in leadership. The premise of mature leadership is that to change a system you must change the way you relate to that system. You must “Shift your Focus” in order to “Change the Game”. As you demonstrate high maturity leadership the system will respond automatically.
Emotional Maturity:
The ability(skill) and willingness(courage) to take responsibility for your own functioning, including your beliefs, thoughts, emotions, wants, needs, expectations, decisions and destiny.
